What is a Freshwater Pearl?
These pearls are farmed and harvested from Freshwater Mussels. Yes, they're real! In fact, they have more Nacre than saltwater pearls. Saltwater Pearls are formed from larger, natural irritants like sand, stone, etc. and therefore have a thinner Nacre. Freshwater Pearls are given much smaller irritants and therefore have a much thicker, natural Nacre.
